Happy Birthday, Abe Lincoln!

Today we celebrated Abe Lincoln's birthday. We read a book about him and looked at a powerpoint that helped us understand the role of the president. We made a fact map about Abe's life and then did a cute craft. I asked the kids what they would put inside Abe Lincoln's tall, black hat and the answers they came up with were hilarious! Here are some of the things they said...money, make-up, cake, a raccoon, crayons, a purse.

Last week we read the book "Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom!" We made our own coconut trees with the letters from our names. It says, "Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom! Will there be enough room? _______ has ______ letters in their name!"
