Caterpillars & Groundhogs

Here are my smart kids reading their "Very Hungry Caterpillar" mini books to their partners. This was our first time reading books to our partners and I was so proud of my smart kids for doing an excellent job staying engaged and listening to their partners while sitting knee to knee!

We learned all about groundhogs on Friday and the kids LOVED hearing all about Punxsutawney Phil and his shadow. We read a few books, including "Gregory's Shadow" and watched some short youtube clips. Then we made these cute little groundhogs that we will turn into hats on Monday. Afterwards, the kids were predictions about whether or not Phil would see his shadow. The majority of the class predicted he would see his shadow. On Monday, we'll review our predictions and discuss how Phil did not see his shadow this year and what that means.

We've been learning the letters "e" and "o" this last week. The kids made these fun octopus windsocks for the letter o.
